standing committees, which meet on a regular basis, and working groups, created to tackle specific issues deemed to be of relevance. ASSOFIN is in constant touch with industry regulators and Authorities, acting as a mouthpiece for the interests and needs of its Members.
It also calls for the help of external consultants when deemed appropriate. Subjects that are analysed, commented on and discussed, sometimes resulting in expert opinions issued to single Members, include all legal, legislative and regulatory matters and macroeconomic changes that affect the granting of consumer credit and mortgages.
Statistical Information: The production of statistics on the industries being represented is one of the Association’s primary activities, performed to monitor market trends and raise the related level of knowledge. Statistical surveys are conducted chiefly through two observatories: the “ASSOFIN consumer credit observatory” and the ” ASSOFIN observatory of household lending for house purchases”. The frequent reports released are at the disposal of contributing members in the Association’s database.
The Association also takes an active role within the Eurofinas Federation on the supply of European statistics on household credit, carried out with the contribution of a number of national associations and published on a quarterly basis.
Research and Studies: The Association produces extensive market research for its Members, in partnership with prestigious research institutes. These surveys provide detailed information, including qualitative data, on specific aspects of the markets being represented. ASSOFIN also helps to draft important in-depth studies with authoritative specialist partners that are available on a subscription basis.
Training: ASSOFIN organizes and develops training courses mainly in e-Learning mode through a platform that is among the most advanced and flexible, realized thanks to the collaboration with leading technology companies. The courses are held under the scientific supervision of important training organizations, such as SDA Bocconi and the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. ASSOFIN didactic paths are distinguished by the high quality of contents, for constant updating of new regulations and compliance with the strictest training requirements. The educational offer is focused on the various operating segments in the field of household credit and covers the following areas: - IVASS, OAM, Anti-Money Laundering, Privacy - GDPR, Transparency, Administrative Responsibility (Legislative Decree 231/01). Moreover, the focus of the ASSOFIN catalog is on courses aimed at external networks, such as dealers, agents and brokers. Many operators choose the ASSOFIN e-Learning platform also for the provision of customized courses.
Relations with Consumers: In view of the importance of customer relations for its Members’ activities, ASSOFIN attaches the utmost importance to relations with consumers and their Associations. Similar importance is attached to having a constructive dialogue with the mass media. The Association is constantly engaged in efforts to raise transparency and knowledge of the consumer credit and mortgage sectors. It is thus a constant information provider for clients and for the media, and is available to help tackle any general problem and dispute and provide further information and insights. In this sense, belonging to the Association means making specific commitments to families and individuals that resort to the lending market. The Association has undertaken a number of initiatives to protect consumers:
